Kodak Zi6: Start to finish

February 24, 2009 by Barbara Bird

Essential Information

  • Capture in VGA mode: We highly recommend capturing video in VGA mode (also called "Standard Definition" mode). Recording in VGA creates files that are smaller in size and easier to use with editing software. Recording in VGA also allows you to record more video on the included memory card:
    • Recording in VGA mode (SD): more than 90 minutes of recording time
    • Recording in High Definition (HD): less than 45 minutes of recording time.
  • Watch your battery life: The Kodak Zi6 requires the use of Kodak rechargeable batteries. Typically these batteries last over an hour, though note that battery life may vary. If you need to shoot videos longer than an hour, we recommend using the Kodak Zx1, which comes with an AC adapter.
