Document camera: Set up in a Van Hise Mediated Classroom

Essential Information

Set up

Plug in the power supply for the Document Camera.

Document Camera power

Connect the yellow RCA cable to the Document Camera in the port labeled "video."

Connect the other end to the front of the VCR. Note the label on the RCA input. It is usually L1 or L2.

Raise the arm of the Document Camera using the attached ring.

Turn the camera head so the lens faces the white surface of the Document Camera (as above).

Turn on the Document Camera and the VCR.

Set the VCR channel to the RCA input used above (usually L1 or L2).

Use the projector remote to set the projector input to video. (Press the "Video" or "Source" button).

Troubleshooting

Make sure the projector is set to "Video." Press the "Video" or "Source" button on the projector remote until you get the correct setting.

Make sure the VCR channel is set properly. The channel should match the RCA input you use (usually L1 or L2).

Zoom, focus

Use the controls on the top of the document camera to zoom in, zoom out, and turn Auto-focus on and off.
