The Snowball and Snowflake microphones connect to a computer through the USB port.  We recommend using Audacity as the audio recording software.

Microphone setup

The Snowflake mic has one setting for recording, while the Snowball mic has three recording settings on the back of the microphone:
1 - For recording directly in front of the microphone
2 - For recording LOUD audio (such as a concert)
3 - For omnidirectional recording

Set up for both microphones is the same:

Connecting to computer

For MAC users:

  • Plug in USB cord to Computer USB port and back of Snowball/Snowflake Microphone
  • Open “System Preferences” on your computer and select “Sound”
  • On the top bar, choose “Input”
  • Change the selection to the Snowball or Snowflake microphone
  • Open “Audacity” and begin recording!

For PC users:

  • Plug in USB cord to Computer USB port and back of Snowball/Snowflake Microphone
  • Open “Audacity” and begin recording!

Troubleshooting:
