Canon FS 31: Start to finish

You’ve checked out a Canon FS 31 video camera.  For complete instructions, see the PDF posted at the bottom of this page.

The case contains the following items, needed for using the camera:

  • Camera
  • Power Adapter -- to plug the camera in an electic outlet for recharging, or to transfer your videos from the camera to a computer.
  • Battery Pack.
  • USB cable – to connect to a computer to transfer saved video files.
  • Stereo Video Cable
  • Editing Software CD.
  • User's Guide

IMPORTANT NOTE: With the built-in 16GB* memory on the FS31 you can record:

  • 5 hours 30 minutes of video in SP (standard mode)
  • 10 hours 25 munutes of video in LP (long play mode)
  • 3 hours 40 minutes of video in XP (high Image quality)

* If the camera warns you that there is no "memory card" in the camera, please, follow these steps:

  1. Press the func button
  2. Use the toggle to move to “menu”
  3. Push the toggle into select “menu”
  4. Use the toggle to move to “memory oper.” 
  5. Push the toggle in
  6. Use the toggle to select “media movies”
  7. Select “built in memory”
  8. Select “media photos”
  9. Select “built in memory”
  10. Press the “func” button to return to the main screen
