LSS Welcomes Chad Shorter

October 5, 2009 by Doug Worsham

Chad Shorter - Learning Technology Teaching Assistant

L&S Learning Support Services is pleased to welcome Chad Shorter as our first Learning Technology Teaching Assistant.

Chad is a dissertator in the Italian department, and brings eight years of teaching experience to the position, having taught Italian language courses at Brigham Young University, the University of Virginia, and here at UW Madison.

Chad will use this experience to lead workshops that help instructors acquire technical
skills and apply them in pedagogically advantageous ways. He recently spoke at the L&S new TA orientation, providing an overview of learning technology options on campus for over 300 new teaching assistants in the College of Letters & Science. He also designed and delivered a workshop on Audacity, a free audio recording and editing application. His upcoming workshops will include using WiscChat for instruction, and a number of other topics to look forward to!

Chad is also a part of the LSS consulting team, consulting with faculty and instructional staff, and helping with the design, development, support, and evaluation of learning technology projects.

If you haven't already, we hope you get a chance to meet Chad soon!
