Every semester, things just get busier and busier in the L&S AV Pool, and we expect that trend to continue this semester as instructors continue making audio, video, and Internet resources essential elements of classroom instruction.
This time of year, we typically see the reservation schedules for our most popular equipment fill up quickly, so if you haven't done so already, now is a good time to drop by the AV Pool and make your reservations! You can make one time reservations using our online form, or request a repeating reservation in person in the AV Pool (275 Van Hise). Please make your equipment reservations in advance to help ensure availability and to save you time at pick up.
Our new laptop and projector carts save setup time and let you roll to class in style.
Dual boot MacBooks which run both Mac OS and Windows XP continue to be a popular choice.
Our NEC projectors have a great track record connecting with laptops.
The H2 Handy Recorder and the Kodak mini-cams make audio and video recording fast and easier than ever before.
Our portable speakers pack a lot of sound in a compact case. They connect easily to a laptop or iPod, and have been used in classes with up to 150 students. Ask for the Yamaha QSK.100.
The L&S AV Pool provides equipment to all faculty, staff, and graduate teaching
assistants teaching in Van Hise Hall. Some portable equipment is also available to L&S instructors and staff for instructional use in other campus buildings. All borrowers, including faculty, must be registered with us and present a valid UW ID to use AV Pool Equipment. Equipment is available for short-term, instructional use only.
