Instructor Seminar Series: "Building in the Basics" wrap-up

September 23, 2011 by Theresa Pesavento

The first seminar in the Principles and Practices of Integrating Technology and Teaching series took place on Wednesday, September 21st and was a great success! Theresa Pesavento (L&S LSS) and Chad Shorter (DoIT Academic Technology) led "Building in the Basics: Fundamentals of Incorporating Technology into the Classroom Setting," which touched on five basic principles to consider when incorporating any kind of technology into your classroom and teaching. Check out the seminar slides online and the seminar outline to see what we discussed!

Each seminar in the series will have a short wrap-up video that revisits the main points discussed in the seminar. In studio with the LSS Media Services team of David Macasaet and Jonathan Klein, Theresa and Chad recap the "Building in the Basics" seminar and preview the next seminar in the series, "Undiscovered Treasures: Getting to Know UW Madison's Learning Technology Toolbox."

"Undiscovered Treasures" will take place on Thursday, October 13th from 2-3 pm in 254 Van Hise. Theresa will be co-presenting with John Thomson of DoIT Academic Technology, and "Undiscovered Treasures" will fill you in on the latest and greatest UW Madison technology tools, sites, and services that will get you excited about incorporating technology into your classroom and better enable you put the "Building in the Basics" principles into action. We hope to see you there!
