Instructor Seminar Series: "Non-equipped Classrooms" on February 13th

L&S Learning Support Services and DoIT Academic Technology invite you to join us for the seminar series Principles and Practices of Integrating Technology and Teaching.

"Make Room for the Computer Cart?: Incorporating Teaching Technology in a Non-equipped Classroom," the fourth seminar in the series, will be held on Monday, February 13th from 2pm-3pm in 254 Van Hise. Theresa Pesavento (Learning Support Services) will lead the discussion, with collaboration and materials from LSS Media Services consultants David Macasaet and Jonathan Klein.

In "Make Room for the Computer Cart?", we will discuss various challenges and common scenarios that instructors face in non-equipped classrooms or in non-technology-supported teaching environments. We will present some pedagogical goals and instructional techniques to consider when facing these challenges and highlight resources and potential solutions for bringing technology into a non-equipped classroom or teaching environment. Bring your questions and non-equipped classroom teaching experiences; we are looking forward to sharing some teaching innovations with you and brainstorming additional instructional possibilities!

Our last seminar, "Fostering and Implementing Online Discussions,"
which Theresa Pesavento and Chad Shorter (DoIT Academic Technology) presented along with Todd Goddard (English Department) and Jonathan Klein on November 17, 2011, discussed techniques, pedagogical goals, and web-based resources that instructors can use to incorporate online discussions into their teaching. For more information on "Fostering and Implementing Online Discussions," please see (and share) our news story and watch our wrap-up video (shot in the L&S LSS studio with the LSS Media Services team: David Macasaet and Jonathan Klein).
