Instructor Seminar Series: "Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces" interviews

March 20, 2012 by Theresa Pesavento

In anticipation of our upcoming seminar in the Principles and Practices of Integrating Technology and Teaching series, "Expanding into the 'Virtual' Classroom: Working with Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces" on Thursday, March 22nd, we had a chance to talk with a handful of experienced and innovative instructors and consultants who are currently working with collaborative learning spaces.

Seminar presenters Theresa Pesavento (Learning Support Services) and Chad Shorter (DoIT Academic Technology) chatted with instructors Nancy Buenger, Katy Prantil, and Mary Fiorena and consultants Timmo Dugale and John Martin. Read (and share) excerpts from their email interviews here:

Collaborative Sites interview: Nancy, Katy, and Mary

Google Docs (in Learn@UW) interview: Timmo and John

The in-person seminar workshop will be held on Thursday, March 22nd from 2pm-3pm in 254 Van Hise. In "Expanding into the Virtual Classroom: Working with Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces," Theresa and Chad will present two useful instructional collaboration tools: Collaborative Sites and Google Docs. For each tool, we will give a quick overview, discuss its advantages/disadvantages, show a few case studies, and brainstorm additional instructional possibilities. We hope that you can join us!
