Instructor Seminar Series: "Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces" wrap up

The fifth seminar in the series Principles and Practices of Integrating Technology and Teaching, "Expanding into the "Virtual" Classroom: Working with Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces," was held on Thursday, March 22nd. Theresa Pesavento (Learning Support Services) and Chad Shorter (DoIT Academic Technology) led the discussion.

In "Expanding into the Virtual Classroom: Working with Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces," Theresa and Chad presented two useful instructional collaboration tools: Collaborative Sites and Google Docs. For each tool, they gave a quick overview, discussed its advantages/disadvantages, showed a few case studies, and brainstormed additional instructional possibilities.

Each seminar in the series will have a short wrap-up video that revisits the main points discussed in the seminar. While on a campus stroll (to enjoy the spring weather, of course) with the LSS Media Services team of David Macasaet and Jonathan Klein, Theresa and Chad recap the "Working with Collaborative Teaching and Learning Spaces" seminar and preview the next seminar in the series, "Beyond the Classroom Walls: Developing your Teaching and Learning Networks," to be held on Wednesday, April 18th.

Please share these materials with those who may be interested, see the attached schedule for past and future seminar topics, and check back at http://lss.wisc.edu for date and time updates. Email theresa@lss.wisc.edu to be added to the seminar series email list to get automatic updates and seminar news.

L&S Learning Support Services and DoIT Academic Technology invite you to join us for Principles and Practices of Integrating Technology and Teaching, a year-long seminar series for instructors of all levels, explores the practical intersection between technology and teaching, presents various applications for technology in and out of the classroom, and addresses the concerns, questions, and possibilities of teaching with technology.
