Instructor Seminar Series: "Teaching and Learning Networks" wrap up

We held our sixth and last seminar of the academic year, "Beyond the Classroom Walls: Developing your Teaching and Learning Networks," on April 18th.

Theresa Pesavento (Learning Support Services) and Chad Shorter (DoIT Academic Technology) were joined by Dan LaValley (Digital Media Center) and Jeff Bohrer (DoIT Academic Technology) to discuss the question, "How do you learn about new ideas for the classes you teach?"

Before the seminar, Theresa and Chad interviewed some instructors to find out where they get new teaching ideas. Check out the ideas that some instructors shared with Theresa and Chad! The panel for this seminar presented a number of different ways
you could get new ideas from other instructors in your department, in other schools and colleges on campus, and beyond. Discussion topics included campus locations, web sites, and programs that can help, as well as using social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) to develop new ideas.

Each seminar in the series will have a short wrap-up video that revisits the main points discussed in the seminar. In studio with the LSS Media Services team of David Macasaet and Jonathan Klein, Theresa, Chad, Jeff, and Dan recap the "Beyond the Classroom Walls: Developing your Teaching and Learning Networks" seminar. L&S Learning Support Services and DoIT Academic Technology invite you to join us for Principles and Practices of Integrating Technology and Teaching, a year-long seminar series for instructors of all levels, explores the practical intersection between technology and teaching, presents various applications for technology in and out of the classroom, and addresses the concerns, questions, and possibilities of teaching with technology.
