Website Review: newseum.org

September 30, 2005 by Lisa Jansen

This month we give an enthusiastic thumbs-up rating to newseum.org, a website containing 445 current front pages from newspapers in 45 countries.

Today's Front Pages are presented alphabetically and by region. Archived Pages provide front pages covering major news stories in recent years. A small graphical view, full size PDF view, and link to website are included for each front page.

Newseum.org can be used to supplement a variety of foreign language activities, including:

    - reading and writing in target language

    - discussing current headlines and events (in US and abroad)

    - discovering regional differences (in cases where more than one paper is available)

There is no charge to access and use the pages on the newseum.org website. However, some copyright restrictions may apply.

According to the newseum.org website, "the Newseum's operations are funded by the Freedom Forum, a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. "

Please note that you may need to turn off your browser's pop-up blocker when viewing pages at newseum.org.
