Instructor Training for Audacity Audio Software

LSS will provide a training workshop for instructors on Audacity, an audio recording and editing software, Friday 2 October at 10 a.m. in Van Hise 259A.

International Channels available on DATN

The Digital Academic Television Network (DATN) now provides several international channels for UW-Madison students, faculty and staff.  All users can access the channels at and can view broadcasts on computers with a wired connection -- not by a wireless internet connection -- anywhere on the UW-Madison campus (including university housing). Windows or Mac? In the AV Pool, you have a choice!

On an AV Pool Computer, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select you

All of the computers available for checkout in the L&S AV Pool now run both Windows XP and Mac OS X.

With these laptops, you choose the operating system you prefer right after turning on the computer. Just use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select Windows XP or Mac OSX. Then hit enter, and you're ready to go.

expected to be severe. Because you are working in a public environment,
you will want to take special precautions to protect your health. To that end, we're

CLUE tip sheet

The UW-Madison Campus Libraries have provided the attached tipsheet for those students completing CLUE.  CLUE is a web-based multimedia tutorial that orients you to the campus library system and the resources and services available to you. 

CLUE must be run on a PC, and will require speakers or headphones.  You may bring your own headphones into the LSS InfoLab.  You can also borrow a headset from the lab attendant in the LSS InfoLab.  The lab attendant will hold your student ID while you use the headset. Read more »
