Now Hiring: InfoLab/TechZone Consultant

L&S Learning Support Services is seeking an IT consultant to provide desktop support services to faculty and staff, and oversee operations in a large, drop-in computer lab.

We are located in the heart of the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Our department supports teaching, learning, and technology in the College of Letters & Science. The LSS InfoLab provides computers, software, printing services, and equipment for loan to UW-Madison students. The LSS TechZone provides desktop support to faculty and staff in 30 L&S departments, centers, and institutes. Read more »

LSS Launches New Social Media Campaign: LSS Bridge

This week, the Learning Support Services social media team will be launching a new campaign to carry out the LSS mission of connecting and supporting teaching and learning through technology. Facilities improvements: AV Pool and 286 classroom

Now hiring: Social Media Intern

LSS is now hiring two new Social Media Interns to start in September 2014. LSS Social Media Interns enhance our institutional and L&S use of social media tools and have many opportunities to collaborate with groups across campus. The Social Media Interns will receive mentoring and training and will join our returning intern, Maddy Horan, on our social media team. The interns will work in LSS facilities during scheduled shifts, with the majority of the time dedicated to social media cultivation and curation. Read more »

Is this real?

No, it's not, but it's difficult to tell without a second look.  One of my colleagues forwarded me this very realistic phishing email.  Often, you can recognize a phishing email because the layout is poor, or the terminology used is unusual.  This phishing email looks authentic, and even contains accurate logos for the company that is being spoofed.  It's very believable... until you look closely.
