Installing the 1239 Dell 5330dn printer for PC users

Get the installation program:

Go to http://support.dell.com
click on Drivers and Downloads
Click Choose a Model
Click Printers
Click Printer
Click 5330dn (Laser)
Click Confirm

The driver page for the Dell 5330dn will appear. Choose the appropriate operating system.
Click Download Now for the row that says "Dell-Driver".

The driver will download.

After it downloads, you can close your web browser.

Running the Installation Program:

Double click the downloaded program to run it.
Vista users may need to give Windows permission via User Account Control to use it.
The program itself extracts into a directory
C:\dell\drivers\R208181
Open My Computer, drive C:, open Dell, open R208181

Open the only folder in there, called Dell5330dn_XP2KVISTA_32

Double click Setup.

Choose Network Installation.

Click Next.

The next screen is set for local installation. Don't change it. Choose Next.

The next screen will appear and your printer may appear in the box near the top under the printer name/ip address/port name. If it does, choose it and hit add printer. If it does, select it. If it doesn't, click Add Printer.

For the instance of having to add the printer manually, under Printer Name or IP Address, type 144.92.89.254

Port name will autofill. Do not click anything else here. Do not click Set IP Address. Click Next.

If you just saw the printer and clicked it. and did NOT manually add the IP, you will proceed to the next screen.

Choose the top printer driver, the Dell 5330dn Mono Laser Printer PS.

Choose Set this printer as default printer if you wish to make this default. Do not check "Share this printer with other computers".

Click Apply. Click Next.

Typical Installation should be selected.

Click Next.

Installation will proceed and you should see a progress indicator start to track installation. This may take several minutes.

Click Finish.
The printer should now be installed.
