All services are offered free of charge unless otherwise specified. Some services are restricted to faculty and staff teaching courses in the College of Letters & Science.
AV Pool (259A Van Hise / 262-1678)
Instructors may borrow computers, projectors, and other equipment for short-term use. Reservations are recommended. See AV Pool for more information.
Classroom Media Support
Classrooms with touchscreen controls are supported by Classroom Media Support. Use the special phone in the classroom or contact (608)890-4900 / av@fpm.wisc.edu
All other classrooms are supported by L&S Learning Support Services in 259A Van Hise / 262-1678. See Van Hise Classrooms for more information.
Classroom Conditions
For chalk, erasers, lighting, temperature, vandalism, and all other building/maintenance related issues, contact Physical Plant Customer Service at 263-3333.
Computer Labs
Individual Use: There is an InfoLab on the 4th floor behind the elevators.
Group Use (L&S courses only): There is one computer lab available for ad hoc use by L&S courses in room 274. Reservations made be made through our online form.
Consulting (L&S courses only)
L&S Instructional Design Collaborative staff work with instructors, staff, and departments in the College of Letters & Science to create modern and effective learning experiences using established course design principles and technical expertise. More information at idc.ls.wisc.edu
Elevators
Access to/from floors 2-5 for authorized users only. Instructors from Van Hise departments may request access from their departments. All others contact Dustin Ludke / 265-8301.
Hours
Van Hise Hall is open to the public on weekdays from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. It is closed on weekends and holidays.
Lost and Found (259A Van Hise / 262-1678)
Items may be turned in to or claimed at the AV Pool.
Vending Machines (3rd Floor Near Elevators)
Refunds may be obtained from Canteen by calling 800-557-1216.
Videoconferencing (L&S Departments Only)
L&S Learning Support Services offers video conferencing facilities for individuals and groups of up to 24 people. See Video Conferencing.
Viewing Rooms
General Assignment Classrooms (including rooms 104, 114) are reserved through your department Timetable contact or by contacting Curricular Services at 262-6345.
Additional facilities are available for L&S courses and student groups through LSS Reservations and Language Institute Reservations.
