Library Catalog Tips

The Library Catalog contains information about both physical and digital items in libraries across the campus, as well as at other UW System schools. The UW-Madison Libraries provide more general help using the Library Catalog.

The LSS Media Collection, consisting mainly of media in DVD and VHS formats, is discoverable in the Library Catalog. There are (at least) two ways to limit your search in the Library Catalog to only return results from the LSS Media Collection.

Start your search from the Advanced Search feature, with your search limited to only the LSS Media Collection under “Locations”.

Refine Your Search

You can also generally search the Library Catalog based on keywords or other search terms, and then refine this search by Library/Location, Language, Year, Format or other facets. The screenshots below highlight some of the most useful options for refining your search for media.
